I got mine at MidAmerica and I think they really brighten up the engine bay.

I had them. Scratched so badly over 2 years with microfiber and a spray mist that they're history.

This is mine from about a year back. Still changing things..Added different headlight motor covers, chromed the radiator shroud under the beveled covers. Beveled covers have also been chromed. Working on the exhaust heat sheilds now...Thanks to Forum member Eric Fischer.

Is there any practical way of removing scratches from the polished stainless? As those that have them can verify, most of the scratches seem to be at the very surface and can be caused by seemingly harmless actions.

Does anyone know why polished stainless scratches so easily?

Mine are from West Coast Corvettes and have been happy with them except for the rubber border around them. It comes loose out of the groove. So this year, since I show, took the border off and buffed them with Wenol to remove any glue and surface scratches. They will stay without border material. Look allot better. Thy are stainless and show quite nicely. Remember one thing. The price of one set like I have, mutiply by 2 or 3 for one set of chrome from anyone. I like to add allot more eye candy to the engine compartment so pricing to do that accordingly, makes sense to me.

I got the polished stainless fender covers today along with a chrome intake cover. Since they are new, you cant tell any difference in looks. If that changes over time, I will replace the fender covers with chrome ones. Here's how it all came out.

Looks great. I know that chrome intake was a pretty penney. Still to much for me. Looks very showy and I doubt with all you have in there, anyone would every notice the lesser in your choice.
