I called Gene Culley at Fred Beans to get a price on 4 wheel sensors for my 99 vert. $382 shipped to my door in Mass. Called the local dealer who is known around here as a "vette dealership" you know good prices, knowledgable, does more vettes than any other Mass dealerships, yada yada yada. $120 a piece plus sales tax for a grand total of $504. WTF . Think of the money chevy is raking in on these things as the c5s start to have the batteries on these things die. Nothing but an air valve, battery, sensor, couple of circuits and some plastic. Probably cost all of 10 bucks to make. Needless to say I'll be ordering a set from Fred Beans Chevrolet at 30% less than the local "corvette friendly" dealership

Just got my new sensors from Fred Beans this past Tuesday. The price you got seems high - should have been around $341 or so shipped. That's what mine was. May want to check with them on that. But yes, they do have great prices at Beans.
Well, what do you do for a living, what does it cost you in materials and time, and how much do you charge? What the market will bear, right?
But you've shown the wisdom of shopping around for the best price... and those vendors will ultimately profit more by pricing right and earning repeat customers.

From what i see the 98?-2000 sensors are higher priced. Change in 2001 lowered the price a lot. Beans is best price i have seen. Saw a price of $75 each + about $10 each set for nut and washer. Total of $85x4=$340+shipping.
That's for a 2000 vette.
Wait a minute! You can't just replace the battery? And is the battery drain related to time or mileage (i.e., is the transmitter ALWAYS on, or just when the car is rolling)?

Battery should be related to mileage since they turn off while the vehicle is not moving...once you start your car up and start rolling, they turn on. However, if you have a low mileage car like my 97 with 40000 on the clock, the batteries may have just died from age...
