Having never owned a vert, I wonder if there are any issues that you folks know of that may sway me towards or against it..
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

Other half refused to even look at anything but a vert. We both love it.
Top is down the entire decent weather season. (If ya ask me, that is the basis for your decision.)

Paging Devnull, paging Mr. Devnull...
Since we haven't heard from you in so long, our imaginations are running wild. At least mine is. Did you drive the vert? Did you buy the vert? Are you still considering it? What up, breeze?
Unless you have eyes in the back of your head , a coupe with the top off is the same experience/feeling. The convertble does have a better look (only when the top is down though)

I have to respectfully disagree. I may not have eyes in the back of my head, but I've got a neck that swivels to point my eyes in different directions and when I do with the top down, it's a wide open view. With less turbulence, to boot.
I know that quite a few people agree with you regarding the top up appearance, but as far as soft tops go, I personally dig it. Looks aggressive, has rear glass instead of plastic, surprisingly well insulated and handsomely tailored. GM couldn't have created a nicer top for the vert. Oh, and by the way...
Dealer was a rip-off artist... The triple black vert is a no-go, but that is only the beginning of the search. I am now actively hunting. Let the games begin! (this is the fun part, finding it....)

Good to hear. Obviously, you discovered that the dealer wanted you to pay top dollar for the vert, while offering you an insulting low-ball on your coupe.
That's how the game is played. We like to buy low and sell high, but so do the dealers -- and they have a lot more practice.
I didn't want to poo poo your dealer earlier, but for these kinds of cars, especially, I think it's best to steer clear and go for a private party.
Have fun in your search! I had the best success in terms of price/availability on autotrader.com and cars.com

Ah, the famous Vert vs Coupe question..the battle rages on. But seriously, asking vert guys what they think of the question is kind of like asking a republican what they think of George Bush...OK, maybe not the best example but you know what I mean.
In the end, there are guys who prefer verts and guys who prefer coupes. I think you can see from my avatar where I stand in that equation. Do I "hate" verts...absolutely not...afterall they're still a Corvette...it just doesn't wind my watch the same way coupes do...I just love that big sweeping back window
Some of my best friends have verts and while we raz each other in good fun, at the end of day, targa or canvass, the back bumper still says CORVETTE

Actually, the pricing wasn't bad, and the trade was OK, but the a$$-wipe told me that I had to run a credit report before test driving... I said no way (and told him that I was going to pay cash, but never there now)...
I hate slimey dealers, and on principal I will not deal with them even if the "deal" is good...

110% agree. I was actually looking more for honest criticism of the cars by the folks that own them (you know that will be good)...

Ohh, ouch. Yeah, that's terrible. You don't ever want to let them do that, as it can temporarily lower your FICO score to even have inquries made to your credit file. What a schmuck. I would have asked to speak with his manager to raise a little hell with that misguided policy before walking out. Good for you, though. You're wise enough to know that there are more (and better) deals awaiting you.

Don't think I could do better than TripleBlackxTwo's summary.
Best decision I made
Wanted to upgrade a year ago to another coupe after driving a C4 coupe for 4 years. Got a great deal on a C5 vert so I went for it. Best car decision I ever made! NOTHING compares to the feel of top-down driving on the Gulf Coast!
