I believe only '97, '98, and '99 year cars have that feature. Someone else correct me it I'm wrong. The range is atleast 75 feet w/ a good battery in the remote. Set in passive, the remote will automatically lock/unlock the driver's door when you come into/leave the range of the remote.
Persaonally, I don't like it. It'a a pain in the butt. I dissabled the feature about 3 days after I got the car..

I'm not sure about the 75 feet however, but '97, '98, '99 had it.Paul
