PERFECT Holiday!
It was a great holiday!
1. Wife and son went to visit friends in Portland (I love them, don't get me wrong.)
2. Sunny
3. Dry
4. 40F
5. 174.5 mile roundtrip from Salem to Tillamook on the Oregon coast, via 22 and 101, then back on 6, 47, and 221; lots of curves.
6. 3 hr. 31 minutes
7. Average speed 42.5mph
8. Average mpg 25.5
9. Saw oncoming a beautiful green C4, but no time to wave
10. Waved to oncoming mag red C5, and he waved back
11. Home by 2:30
12. Gave my 02 Mag Red its first wash using the two bucket method, blow dry, plus some hand drying.
13. Neighbor from across street (Miata owner) came over to admire car and congratulate me on getting it. He loves it, and actually knows some things about the car, including the CAGS.
14. Tire shine
15. Just stare at car now back in its space in the garage
16. Grateful to be able to own it
17. More grins
18. Wanna go again!
Geez, I was impressed by the car today. It feels like its on rails, stays very flat in the curves (no Z51), has so much power in each gear, and is very fun to shift. Great sportscar with a nice, comfortable ride. Yeah, I am preaching to the choir, but it takes ownership to fully appreciate the C5. WOW!!

JH: "...time solo behind the wheel of the C5 is soul inspiring" - you've concisely described my feelings!!
I think about the C5 when frustrated at work and I need stress relief. It's amazing how that can lighten the load!
