My horn beeps by itself as though i had just remotely locked my doors with my fob. It beeps once.
It is doing this at random without the button being accidentally pressed.
Any ideas as to what this means??
passive switch on the remote. turn it off. it sends out signals when the thing is moving to unlock the car. if u get too far away from teh car or the remote gets still it thinks u've walked away from it and it locks the doors and honks. annoying to say the least. i think most of us have them turned off. even GM got rid of it after the first few years of the C5.

I agree, this could be it. Had it happen all the time to my '99. Turned the switch off and it stopped.

It's likely the passive switch on the remote. Your remote should have a little slide switch under the hatch and panic buttons. Slide it to the left.
It can also be a bad FOB . I had one that will still be in passive mode ,even if you tun it off . the problem was internal not in the switch itself . tossed the unit out , drives you nuts
one way to find out is to keep one FOB at a time way away from the car , then walk close to the car with the other one in hand and then away from the car , if the horn chirps , that would be your culprit FOB
