Optima Batteries
Which Optima batteries are you using? Do they make one with a side post only?
Where is the best place to buy?
Thanks!

with everyone here. Optima RedTop 34/75 or a 34/78. Either will work great. The 34/78 has a bit more CCA's.

If you buy a 34/78 you can buy a cover from Optima that hides the top posts. About 14 bucks or so.

You must go yellow top if you plan to have a decent stereo with some boom!

Does a 34/78 fit all year C5's?
I'm especially interested in 2002's...

I'm pretty sure it will. The battery tray in my '01 certainly is big enough. I've read posts where people have had to put a different lock down piece on the 78's. Not sure though. I have a 34/75 and it fits/locks down with the OE equipment. Unless you are running in really cold places or have a massive stereo system the 34/75 will work fine. It has more CCA's than the original 75 series that came with the car.

I recently dropped the Optima RedTop 34/78 into my 04' vert. No problem with the fit, but the OEM hold down clamp wouldn't work. I used the one supplied with the battery for GM cars and it worked perfectly.
