pull the power off of your ACC plug in your passenger footwell. I've been told you can not hook into the dimmer. So if it is important to you, install a seperate dimer switch.
When I hooked up my flameball the instructions told you how to make it dim. Can't remember which wire but it does dim, not that I ever use that feature. I was debating if I should try to wire my gauges to the dimmer as well.
when you guys put gauges in where do you hooktoo so that the lights will dim with all the others?
thanks
When I wired up my pillar pod gauges, I took the dimmer wire of the HVAC harness. You'll have to take a VOM and tap into each wire to find the one who's voltage drops with the dimmer switch, but it's easy to do.
and ive heard that doesnt work, id like to know where to hook them up for power at all.
What year is your car? In the passenger footwell up above the BCM there are three wires that are taped off, orange, yellow, and black. The orange is a constant 12V, the yellow is swithced and the black is a ground. These wires are just taped off and waiting for something to be hooked to them. Some 2003 and 2004 models do not have this pigtail.
If you can't or don't want to go the route above, go to NAPA, PepBoys, or Autozone and buy a MINI fuse adapter and just tap into your fuse box pretty much anywhere.
