I'm new to the C5. Been doing the C4 thing since 94 though.
With this 2000 M6 Coupe - relativly stock.
In first gear on good dry pavement with a rolling start and the clutch fully engaged - if I floor it, the rear tires will actually break loose if the traction control is off.
Tires are stock Goodyear runflats that are just about at the wear indicators.
I was doing that with my 2000 stock A4. Those tires are probably the original tires and need replacing bad. Sounds like you are a little more concerned with the new power than the fact that you upgraded to the BEST generation of CORVETTE!
Welcome to the C5 owners club I have an A4 with 3.15s and when I had the runflats on my car, I would spin out into the next lane and get all swirly from a 20-30mph roll.

If your tires are at the wear indicators, then yes, you can expect a lot of wheel spin. Even when they have more tread, its not hard to break them loose in 1st.
welcome to owning a c5 your right foot controls the chaos @ the back wheels; one of the priviliges of owning a vette! btw, others have written on these forums that flooring it w/ the t/c off can get away from you quickly & w/o warning. do so w/ caution. enjoy the ride! bub
