Default Head Light Bulbs

I am going to change my head light bulbs on a 2002, is there any secret that I should know before I start this project. Thanks for your help.

Be sure to disconnect the battery. Better safe than sorry. It also is a bit easier if you remove the top cover off the light housing. I used Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. They are very nice compromise between the stock bulbs and going all out with the HID thing. There was a post here a few weeks back about putting the high beam bulbs in the low beam socket. There is some adjustment needed but it improves your visibility greatly. Also did it to my DD pickup truck. good luck

Follow the procedure in your owners' manual and wear some gloves when you put in the new bulb so you don't get the oil from your skin on it. If you have very big arms and hands you may want to find some one with smaller ones

Keep fingers off the bulbs when you install them.

Not really necessary to disconnect the battery. Just make sure the lights are turned off when you do the job.

Perhaps I am a bit ****. I worked on electrical units for 35 years in my career and learned early on about electricity. It is possible to get a real kick out of the 12 v battery. Also worked with 240 v ac and it ain't no fun getting bit by any of them. You can do what you want, but I am still doing it my way.
