Default Need Help - Heated Seat Switch Install

Can anybody give me some feedback on the circuit board located under the traction control panel? Looked at previous post (gtoformula2) and e-mailed him but no response yet. My question is the effect of trimming the corner of this board to make room for seat switches. In the posted pics, it appears that some of the circuitry was also trimmed off. Is there any compromises in doing this (I have traction control with air bag indicator light only)...

Can't help on that question TOOGECKO but I went with a mount in the ashtray:

I took out the inner flap leaving just the door. I open to run the seats and close it when the switch goes off and the seats warm and toasty.

Thanks guys.

Here is the posted link

Notice the pic showing the trimmed circuit board. My question is what am I losing on trimming that corner? I have a 2004 Z06 with traction control panel that has airbag indicator light only >

Default get a spare to play with

As long as none of the copper traces on the board get cut you are OK, I think you are trimming unused insulation section of the board,

You can buy a replacement on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._BIN_Stores_IT

Make sure it works first in your car, then trim and cut it , mount your switches and if all is OK sell the original Active handling switch back on eBay , all you will be out is your S/H.. sometimes I have even made a little money trying out new mods that way

Thanks. Actually that is the issue. There are 4 small nodes and 2 larger nodes that are effected in that pic, all with printed circuitry attached. I am guessing that this is there for the selective ride control for those that have it (there are two leds on my board that are obviously unused). I have a source that will sell me one for $30 if need be, but I still would like to mount the switches there as opposed to another location. So...

My heated seat installation write up is here

I trimmed the circuit board with no ill effects - I still wonder what the LEDS were for! (I do not have selective ride control)

Barry - just what I needed to know That confirms what I was inquiring about and I guess if two people have done this, I should expect the same results. Hopefully I will be posting pics next week of my finished installation. I might just have the only heated Caravaggio seats out there - can't wait they have been sitting next to my desk for a week now waiting for me to get some time

I had the traction control panel off of my 1997 and I didn't see the same circuitry, I think because I don't have active handling? Maybe my memory is poor.

I think it should be easier if that is the case on my 1997. thanks for the write ups, they look great!
