I have a hurst short shifter installed.
Any recommendations??? I want something that would just screw right on. I don't want those allen wrench doo dad *****.
I live in south louisiana...so i need a **** that won't melt my skin off during the summer.

I appreciate any help you guys can provide me.

Good idea to stay away from metal ***** of you are concerned about the heat. Had a metal one in an F-body of mine and had to keep a washcloth handy to drive it in the Texas heat. I went with a flameball shifter in mine as kind of a retro thing. Some don't like them at all, but I enjoy mine. It's acrylic and screwed right on. Lots of people like the high tech look of Momo. There's a member than makes some really good looking acrylic *****... hopefully he'll post up. Another good choice is the c6 ****.

These are stock C-3 parts.... threads are the same.
The shift pattern is from the old ****, filed down and siliconed on the console.

I have the same. Huge improvement over the stock C5 ****. Only thing I noticed, is sometimes it spins a bit and has to be rotated back to the correct position, since it doesn't use the Devil Key anymore.

The stock square **** sucked, so when I got the Hurst, I went with black Hurst ball. Well I didn't like that very long, and put the factory **** back on.

Now I have the C6 ****. No it dosen't screw on, but it's the best one I've found.

I installed a threaded insert in my C6 shift **** - it does screw on but may not have the weight you need to keep your hurst shifter quiet. I have a shortened stock shifter and am personally happy with this set-up. I have had two different aftermarket shifters and would definitely advise you to get something with a little weight to it (i.e. solid) to help prevent the infamous "Hurst rattle"...
