Are the rear windows in a Vette convertible glass or plastic? Where would you get a plastic one replaced? An upholstery shop, perhaps?
Just wanted to see if anyone had had to do such a thing.
May be wrong, but I don't think you can replace the plastic/glass portion of the top. I had a '95 conv. where the glass had separated from the top and everyone I took it to wouldn't touch it. they would only replace the top..
Traded the '95 for my '04 and a few days later went back and there was my old vette on the lot with a new top.. If the dealer didn't repair, then I'm not sure it's possible..

I was told that the top had to be replaced. Its origionally put in with some type of heat bonding, I guess the manufactorer is the only one with the proper equipment.

Just replaced my top on the 2000 vert. Had the glass separate from the top and you have to replace the entire thing (not the liner). I put a post on the forum for a top and one of the members had a new one still in the box which he sold me for $250 which was a super deal. I took it to auto upholstery shop to have it put in so the entire project was about $500 but it looks fantatic.

As others have said, glass. Not sure if this is true for vettes, but Fbodies can have a glass panel replaced if the shop orders correctly. However, the total bill is very close to doing a complete top because of the labor involved.
