lol awesome! what was i thinking when i owned an SSR? i traded in my SSR for an expedition and it helps alot but i need to stick with sports cars. they have always been my passion. u guys might laugh at me but i am single and no kids so i shouldnt be driving around in a gas hog that big. it is a long story but i can say that i thank my x-wife for it.
I used to average 20mpg per tank until I put the mufflers and headers on. Now it's down to 16-17 and it's not because the headers use more gas, I do. :o
Well, my AUTO has 3:15s (came stock as an option) and I was getting 29.5 mpg on the interstate, but since I installed my heads and cam, my gas mileage is a bit lower.
I get 21 around town and 30 on the highway and this is actual math caculations. Although the DIC only seems to be off by 1mpg, the computer is pretty acurate in my Vette
My 03 mn6 gets great milage. The milage a car gets depends upon the amount of pressure the right foot applies to the go pedal.
I basically drive mine in a conservative style, I will get 20 to 21 in what I call in town driving, side streets, and expressays. I always get 30 to 32 on the highway (running 70 to almost 80, and no hard rev's up the ramps). All my calculations are done by math, so I am giving real numbers not the higher numbers of the DIC.
Yes, I have driven mine is a more aggressive style and then the milage does drop drastically. I do enjoy the torque thrust of my car, but I do not nail the go pedal everytime I start up or go up a on-ramp. I just do not want to give more profit to the oil companys than I have to, nor do I want to buy rear tires unnecessarily.
what kind of CD's do you all listen to... with AC/DC my mileage tends to drop in the single digits...
CD meaning Coefficient of Drag. LOL But your comment is probably just as applicable! Music definitely has a significant impact on my gas mileage… hehehe.
My DIC is usually about 2mpg high. I reset the Avg MPG and the Trip Odo, each time I refill. Then I divide the trip mileage by the amount of gas I put in the next tank.
With a 10mi daily commute, 7 on freeway, 3 off, I average about 24-26mpg. I normally shift around 2,200 RPM’s but I’ll take it up high every now and then, for some ‘Spirited’ leg stretching.
0.50:1 6th gear helps too… lol
Oh, and B&B Bullets hurt my mileage pretty bad for a while... taking it up to 4k RPMs just on normal shifting is SO WORTH IT!!! But i gotta keep focus on mileage...
2000 A4 very w/3.15. Cruising around town I average 18.5-20.0 MPG (per my DIC, which I reset before the weekend cruises).
On trips, I use the Cruise Control and always average 28.5-31.5.
For sake of comparison, my company car is a 2006 Doge Magnum SXT w/AWD & 3.5 V6. I AVERAGE 18 MPG on the highway, worse in town (which isn't often in THAT car). Our other car is a 2004 Jeep Rubicon - oh well, I didn't buy that one for the fuel economy!
No one believes me when I tell them the most fuel-efficient car I own is a Corvette!

I have a 6 speed. On the hwy I avg between 31 & 33 mpg at approx 85 mph. Around town I only get about 24. I have a Dodge Ram 2500 with a Hemi that gets about 11 around town and 14 (maybe) on a trip. The Vette is the most fuel efficient vehicle in our family. People don't believe us!!!
I see 18 to 27 per tank. The more city driving I do the more likely that the DIC is showing an inflated number (say 10% or so). The more highway I drive the more accurate it is. On a recent trip to Tahoe from the Bay area doing 80mph throughout I got 24 mpg on the way up and 26 on the way down (lot more traffic on the way down so slower speeds). Those numbers were calculated at the fill up and the DIC was only off about .5 mpg.
If you want mpg shift early and run it around 1200-1500 all the time. If you don't care drive it like you stole it, much more fun
