I got this PM on another board I'm on. Can anyone help?
i'm looking at buying a 2000 corvette i found...its a black 6 speed...stock...appears to be in pretty mint condition
thing is...the seller seems shady...and i have a feeling a vin swap might've been done on the car so i just want to make sure he's not screwing me over because he's letting it go fairly cheap
do you know where the "other" vin numbers are located and how i can match them to the original vin number?
According to the 2000 GM Service Manual, the Vehicle Cerification label and the Tire Placard are both located on the edge of the drivers door. Both should have the VIN on them. On the VC label, it should be in the block on the bottom left. On the Tire Placard about half way down the sticker on the left. There is also a Service Parts label on the inside of the glove box door that lists the RPO codes of the vehicle. The VIN is also found there in the top left hand block. At the very least, these locations should all reflect the same number.
