Default Leaky back end

OK, I know you all have spoken about this before, but my 2004 Vert is starting to leak from the back end, with about 9,800 miles on it. What is the cure and can you recommend a good mechanic to repair it under warranty in Southern California???

Thanks.

My 04 started to do the same thing with about 7,000 miles on it. It took three trips to the dealer to get it fixed correctly but each time, there were different seals involved. Now have 13,000 miles and all seems good. Do you have a local dealer that you trust? Your car should still be under warranty so it makes sense to find a dealer that has done this work before. You might call a couple of dealers in your area and ask if they have done this repair before (they should have because it's pretty common)

You can also ask other owners for suggestions. You may also want to ask how long they will need the car for the repair. It is not uncommon to have to order the parts which delays the whole process. Good Luck.

If it is coming from the side of the differential, then it is most likely the seal that the halfshaft goes into. Mine's had this problem 3 times. Last time they used a revised seal and so far, two years later, it is still leak free. It is a warranty repair and hopefully you have a good dealer that can fix it right up for you. Good luck.
