I've been reading about the various suspension options, Z51, selective magnetic dampening, etc.
I've read that some cars apparently have 3 settings to select from. My 04 coupe has a selector on the center console, but only has 2 choices, tour and sport. What is the difference and what do I have exactly.
You have the F55 or magnetic ride control. There are only two selections: Tour or Sport. The older F45 had 3 selections to choose from. By all accounts, if you like the ability to vary the ride, then the F55 is the better solution. However even at the Sport setting, the suspension is not as stiff as the Z51 setup. Personally, I really like the F55.

The Selective Real Time Dampning is the F45 package that was discontinued in 2003 when the F55 Magnetic Ride became available. The F45 had a three position switch and the F55 is a two position switch.
