Well I knew it was only a matter of time...my girl and i were cruising around town last night running errands with the top off (75 degrees here in FTW in the winter ) and i hear a ticking/clicking noise from outside the car (thought it was a rock in the tire). NOPE a nice big flat finishing screw ... on the edge of the tread to the sidewall. DOH!!!!
So i head down to the new DISCOUNT TIRE and I suspected they really couldn't fix it. Well the real problem came when we tried to get a replacement tire (MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 295/35)...they don't make them any more? Luckily the Asst. Mgr found one in MICHIGAN and to make me even more lucky the $59 warranty i bought when i bought the tires last year saved me $390!!!! The point is, for once a warranty like that has helped me and Josh at DIS TIRE in Keller really saved my ****.....
PS ... that sucks they don't make that tire any more. Has anyone else had this problem or heard about this?
A search on the Michelin web site for Corvette tires show that they don't have any tires that fit our OEM sizes! It looks like they're not going to support us any more!
