Default key fob question....

When I attempt to lock/ unlock doors I have to be at the car for my fob to work. It used to work better before. Could the battery be low? If so what type battery does it take and where can I get it?

as always... thanx....

Just open it up and look at the battery and match it up. Or you can hold the FOB under your chin to get better range... Seriously it works.

Just look near where the key ring hole is, there should be an indentation where you can pry it open.

you should have a slot in the bottom corner big enough to stick a coin and turn to pry it open .

There should be a number on the back of the battery. Mine was a CR 2450. I assume all the key Fob's use the same battery. Hope this helps.

That does sound wierd, but it works. Hold the fob under your chin, open mouth and press button. It will increase your range. Here is another trick. If you lock keys in car. Use your cell phone, call home have someone hold the other fob at the phone and press. Somehow it transmits through the phone and unlocks the door. I have never done it but a friend did and he says it works.

The chin thing works...the cell phone doesn't. That has been discussed numerous times here and proven an urban myth.

Looks like I have been snookered. Now I really have to punish my friend who said he did it. Or was he just yanking this old chain?
Thanks for the update.
