Default Question about Michelins

Am giving serious thought to the Michelin Pilot Sport zero pressure tires. I know they are a relatively new series of tires, but can anybody give me some information on how difficult it is to find someone to repair one that has a puncture or nail in it. The Goodyear EMTs are difficult to get off the rims, with some businesses refusing to deal with those tires (or worse yet, damaging the rims trying to get the tires off). Is it the same story for the Michelins? A 50 mile range for a damaged tire can be quite limiting if there are no "chain" tire service centers where you are at.
Thanks.

Sorry not heard anything on this

I have them so I'd be interested to hear of any repairs.

In fact I've had my Pilot Sport Zero Pressure tires for only a couple of weeks now. Of course I don't drive where I would be >50 miles away from a Discount Tire or other like business.

No problem at all. I picked up a nail in the tread of a rear tire and the tire shop I bought them from took care of it. They used a plug and there have been no issues for over 1000 miles since. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP

One of my Pilot A/S ZPs picked up a screw last year, approx. one month after putting them on. I took it back to Discount Tire, and they had no problem repairing it, nor has it given me any trouble, even at speeds in triple digits.

Thanks to all who responded. It sounds like as long as you are close enough to a dealer from the chain that you bought it from, there won't be a problem. I wonder about regular "independent" service stations in small town America.

AND...Buying online seems to be cheaper, but how does the service (and warranty) element fit into all this?

Buying online isn't necessarily cheaper. I bought my Michelin ZPs from NTB, and they matched the Tirerack price, plus $15/tire for shipping. So it was the same price, except for sales tax. I felt more comfortable buying locally because of warranty servicing.

I got mine from Costco. Same as the online price but fitting included.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Costco around here.

I ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZPs yesterday with an independent repair shop. The price was close to tirerack.

The shop has worked on my other cars (Toyota Matrix, Chevy Malibu) and I have been very happy with their work.

I put my trust in them for installing the Michelins and any future issues (i.e., warranty work, repairs).

If you don't know the product, know the dealer.

I'll post how the tire installation goes.
