Whatever the manufacturer recommends on top of the oil filler cap. I figure they know better than I as to what is best for the engine, and for the C5 that would be Mobil 1 5W-30.
I save the Canola from our fish fry's and use that - seems like such a waste to just dump it. Seems to run really great! Has a nice seafood aroma when you run it hard too -
I bet you get all the neighborhood Puss.....I mean cats chasing you!!
Castrol 0w-30 (Made in Germany). I used it at the recommendation of PATMAN who posted a thread on The Forum. The car runs great and even though I hang in 3rd and 4th gears longer than I should (at rpm's over 3,500), I never use a drop of oil.
I'm glad you took my advice!
I've been running this oil in different vehicles since 2002 with awesome results! I've got the oil analysis results to back it up too, this stuff shows extremely low engine wear, and it works very well at reducing consumption. In fact on my last oil change I went 9000 miles and the level on the dipstick did not go down at all! Most people that are running Mobil 1 5w30 cannot say that.
