I go by color, if the amber color is getting dark, I change it. I know that many think this is ridiculous, but it is my car and I do as I want when it comes to the oil.

I'm at 33%. I'll definitely do it within the next week or so. Last year I
changed the oil at about 37%.

I change oil between 30-50%. I could probably go lower becuase the DIC is a good measurement tool, but with my vette being a DD, I feel better changing it before 30%

Are you asking becasue you are curious or asking because you want to know when you should?

GM developed the algorithms based on the oil specs that were in place in 97 to be safe if you changed your oil as soon as you could after the DIC hit 0%...
The oil in use now has improved properties ...

I usually get down to about 40-45% on mine, but by that time it has been about a year anyway.

Royal Purple oil 12,000 between chnages with filter changes at 3 and 4,000. New Mobil 1 is good for 12K also.

I do mine just like I do the gas, I run it until it's empty, then I refill it.
