1. The turn signal lights in the front keep burning out. I have had the Z since end of August 05 and i have had to replace 2 on the left side and 1 on the right. Is this just a normal occurence?
2. The clip for the rear window defroster has come undone from the window. Can i just use rear-view mirror adhesive to put it back in place?
1) It's an 01, so maybe they've all reached the end of their useful life at once. Not sure is 5 years is normal, but if the 2 on the left side was the same bulb, there might be a problem.
2) Did the clip merely come undone or did it break off? If it came undone you can slide it back in. If it broke off....well, I broke mine off cleaning the window right after I got mine . My Vette mechanic tried to solder it but it didn't hold. My understanding is that they don't make a replacement piece and you need to replace the whole rear glass. Maybe someone has a better solution.
For the defroster... it actually has to make metal to metal contact to work so glue is not an option. Anybody good with a solder gun should be able to fix it rather easily. The clip on my 95 Z28 was almost exactly the same, I fixed it and 3 years later when I sold the car it was still going strong. Worst case I have heard of with soldering was somebody heated the glass WAY too far and actually cracked it. Again, that was in a Camaro.

Mike, I had the same rear window grid problem. I soldered it and it held for a while. I asked the dealer about it and they REPLACED the entire rear glass under warranty! I believe there is a glue that conducts electricty you can use since your's isn't still under warranty. Hate to say it, but try a search. Good luck!
