Hey all you frustrated Vette drivers fed up with the long winter! Kentucky Speedway is holding it's "Drive the Track" day on March 25th. I'll be there in my 03 MY MN6 Coupe for the third time.
I have an idea... We could line up Vettes with a variety of exhaust set-ups so that someone can videotape them as they drive by at speed on the track. It would allow us to compare exhaust notes under the same driving conditions. I would have loved to have this back when I was trying to pick a catback system. I ended up with the Borla Stinger system and Bassani X-pipe, which I'm very happy with.
I've been lucky enough to take my C5 on Kentucky Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Michigan International Raceway. I'd love to drive a road course some day...
Getting a chance to run on a big track is AWESOME! Cool video - great sound! Did you always have to stay behind the pace car? What gear was that last pass in?
For those of you in Texas (DFW) area, or those that want to drive here.... there is something similar in October - Maybe May again this year.... Been three times!
Hey Paul, great video! We have about 20-30 Corvettes(weather permitting) coming from the Bluegrass Corvette Club for the Track day. We plan on getting there between 11:30 and 12. Hope to see you there.
Your not allowed to pass anyone in the five car group, including the pace vehicle. The final pass in the video topped out at 125 MPH but I don't recall what gear I was in. As you can hear in the video, I was winding it out pretty good.
Hey Wildcat99, I'll plan on being there the same time as your club. I'll bring my video camera so I can get some footage to share with everyone.

Thanks for sharing the video...I always enjoy seeing cars run. Yours sounds good!
I have done oval track Atlanta Motor Speedway, which was fun. We would lay back, off the pacecar, & then go WOT to ~140. However, nothing compares to 'open track' on a road course. I run Road Atlanta every chance I get. Just imagine coming down a hill at 150...160...170 in to a 90 degree left followed immediately by 90 right.
After I run at the track I'll be heading over to Belterra casino which only 15 minutes away (across the Ohio River on the Indiana side). Maybe I'll be lucky enough to win enough money to go all out with the next round of mods!
