Anyone use Dex-Cool Premixed?
The General sez to mix Dex-Cool 50/50 with drinking water. This stuff is premixed and I assume it's okay use. Before I add a little, are there any problems with it? Thanks.
It's funny that the Dex-Cool can be mixed with drinking water but most brands of the green (ethlyene glycol) coolant recommend using distilled water.
The service manual procedure for refilling after a flush and complete drain simply says to add 2 gallons of coolant followed by the balance of the amount as just water. The water pump will do the mixing for you
You can buy distilled water at most grocery stores for around a buck a gallon so it's cheap and easy to mix your own. Once you fill the system, you still have to add the mix to the overflow tank and it's always a good idea to keep a pre-mixed gallon of coolant in the garage.

Thanks for the input. I followed the manual's instructions, added the required Cool-Dex 50/50 premix, and the engine seems to be running cooler. The level was down about half an inch from the full cold level. Thanks again! John
