although i dont have one of these keys, i did see them posted a while back...heres my thought. although it is a brand new key, if i remember correctly it was just chopped off and stuck into the flip mechanism right? or something like that? so the key was handled many times im sure in order to get it made just right...my guess is by less than physician clean hands? likely to me, id say clean it first, if it still messes up im sure the vendor will replace the key. i would hope anyway.

That is incorrect the key is brand new and has to be cut by the customer it is installed as a blank. It is possible that the person who cut the key did the damage. I do agree that cleaning it is a good ideal it can't hurt. This is not a chopped off product that is stuck on though.

Lots of people REAL quick to jump on Corvette Key's back.

Back off people, it's a brand new product. Some of you don't even have the Key and are bashing......bad taste

My old key will still work and will not set a code but the new flip key will set the code within seconds. Any help would be great also does anyone have a WORKING number to the company that makes these keys. The one I recieved in the shipping email does not work. BTW my old key reads 11.78k and the new one reads 11.81k but both read as a 15 at the stealership.

Thanks
We received your information a new key is on the way.

Default This is getting out of hand!

First and foremost this is a great product. The vendor responsible for the creation of the key should be thanked not chastised. I am sure the vendor will fix my isolated issue and continue to provide that same level of service and courtesy to anyone else who may have a problem. I did not post here to cause a issue but only to relate my problem in the hopes that someone could tell me how to fix it not to give the vendor a a hard time. Now as I fully appreciate everyones responses I still recommend that everyone buy this key and tell their friends to buy one as I do regardless of my problem. Please take my advice and buy this key, the vendor put alot of time into the design and deserves to reap the benefits of his/her labor.

Thank You and please support this vendor.

Im sure it is a fine product... In fact I just received mine today...
...I did not get mine hooked up today but I plan to get to it this week...

initially I checked to see if the remote would be recognized...
...and it wasnt...

I havent contacted tech...
...but I just pressed lock unlock buttons for 10 seconds...
I didnt hear anything and afterwards the lock unlock button didnt respond...

If Corvette Key would like to respond here thats fine...
...or I will give it an honest try tomorrow and contact Corvette Key if it fails to respond...

With all of the R&D...Im confident the issues can and will be resolved...

peace

did you get new guts with your key or did you put your old fob guts in there?

i cannot see how it could be the new key's fault if you swapped the old guts into the new key.

it's just a new housing for the old fob.

Hello Stu,

You have to get in your car and with the key "any key" in the ignition and also in the run position "but with the engine off" push the options menu until it cycles to a blank screen and then hold down the reset button until you see the fob training prompt. Follow the instructions and once finished turn off the car and try your new fob.

Enjoy

NOT TRUE if he is just transferring the guts from his old fob. Effectively, the new fob becomes the old fob.

If a new remote board was ordered follow these instructions:

Fob programming
1-Turn the ignition to RUN
2-Turn the radio off
3-Press the RESET button in order to clear any warning messages
4-Press the Option button on the DIC until the display is blank in order to enter the program mode
5-Press and hold the Reset button for 3 seconds
6-Press the option button until FOB Training message is displayed
7-Press the Reset button in order to begin the programming sequence.
8-Simultaneously press and hold the lock an unlock buttons on the first transmitter for 12 seconds. The display will indicate when that transmitter is programmed and when to proceed to the next. Repeat this step for each transmitter.
