well got done with day 2 of this project! also working on other sets, so progress is a little slower than expected!
this is where i left off last night....
and after several sessions of filler, and sanding... ive finally got everything molded the way i want it! ive also mounted the "trim" plate for the screen, you can see it in black. i will be molding that in tom. so it looks like it is actually part of the bezel itself.
I got to say the guy who is getting that bezel is one lucky dude. Oh, yeh, how about that it looks like that's mine. Brian and I have been talking almost everyday about the progress. Someone asked about gauges - in those pods will be the dynotune nitrous switch panel and pressure guage. This is the first I've seen of actual pics. I was hoping to be surprised and just see the finished piece. I guess I'll pretend I didn't look.
Yeah, I'd love to know that as well. I'm going to begin my own 'bezel shaping' soon, and I'd love to know what was used in this example. Any tips on usage?
thanks guys for all the feedback! just got back from another long day at the shop. no pics tonight... but the bezel is complete, and ready to prime/paint! FINALLY!!
ill get some more pics up later in the week, and hopefully this weekend it will be complete with torch red paint!
Are you going to offer your services to do these on other cars?
yup! thats what im going for, but its def. more time consuming than i expected! but thats the way it always ends up!
for those asking.... im using 3M products, and also RAGE
btw I love the way you incorporate the bezel in the mold....
EXCELLENT!
...looking forward to seeing your work in StuzVette
