only a few things that are off on it, pass side window wont roll down, if i click it on the drivers side button it just makes a clicking sound over there, i figured if one would be wore out it'd be the driverside, pass side pwr mirror wont go up and down, but it goes left and right, neither of the remotes work for it, and i put new batterys in them , and did the 7 second lock unlock hold to try to re sync em or w/e, and i hear a slight low pitch noise, almost whine , sounds like fuel pump or something not sure if thats normal or not, any way input apreciated
DIC is for the Digital Information Center. It is where the Corvette by Chevrolet shows up when you first (slowly) start the car. To get codes push down the option button then press the fuel button four times (keep the option button down while pressing the fuel button four times) The codes will flash on the DIC. Write down the entire string of codes. If you don't get it written there is a manual mode you can scroll through, or just start over again. Oh and you have to have the key in the on position, engine not running.
Search the forum on the code you found or just post, someone will answer. Also read the sticky at the top of this page. It has lots of good info.
the dic is the screen on the dash that shows your gas milage and all kinds of other stuff. you need to program your key fobs. this is the procedure down here.
Fob programming
1-Turn the ignition to RUN
2-Turn the radio off
3-Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC warning messages
4-Press the Option button on the DIC until the IPC display is blank in order to enter the program mode
5-Press and hold the Reset button for 3 seconds
6-Press the option button until FOB Training message is displayed
7-Press the Reset button in order to begin the programming sequence.
8-Simultaneously press and hold the lock an unlock buttons on the first transmitter for 12 seconds. The IPC will indicate when that transmitter is programmed and when to proceed to the next .Repeat this step for each transmitter.
apreciating all the info, it said no codes, would it throw a code if it had a bad window motor or blown fuse? on my prior fbody it wouldnt, any how thanks for the info on the DIC
Every now and then my passenger side window will not roll down in my 2000 and what I do is hold the pass door button to roll down the window and then slam the passenger door. Only had to do it a couple of times and it has worked for me everytime. Sometimes the relay gets stuck if you dont use it so I always try and at least move the pass window every now and again to prevent that. Hope this helps.
OK, fobs are working, awesome, 1/3 problems solved now i gota figure out why the pass side window all the sudden doesnt work, and why the pass side mirror wont go up or down, again, i apreciate all the quick responsive input
I kept hearing a whine in my 97. It sounded like it was coming from somewhere behind the drivers seat. I found out that it was actually a fuel pump. Now I don't really even notice it.
ya i first heard it when i fired it up, and it sounded just like my trucks fuel pump, so i was hopin it wasnt a fuel pump ready to go, but man...all this built in stuff is nice...sure beats the heck out of mastach cable and laptop i'd have to diagnose my camaro with lol
The fuel pump does make noise. It's normal. Hope you get the window problem found. There are allot of modules on the car. Each door has a control module. Maybe that could be the problem.

1. Pop the hood
2. Look at the battery and terminal very closely(corrosion, leaking battery etc.)
3. If you see any of this, take battery out clean up mess and buy new battery.
This will cause more electrical problems then you ever want to personally find out

Congrats on the new ride. First and foremost the "whine" you hear is the fuel pump. Very common in early C5's. My '97 has had it for 4 years. You get used to it. The fix is expensive as the fuel pumps are submerged in the gas tanks so it is pretty big deal to remove and replace. The power window could be a couple of things. The worst case is the regulator, which was fairly common as well. I had to have mine replaced soon after I took delivery of my '97. It could also be one of the two door switches or a loose connector in the wire loom that runs between the door and the body. The rocking seat is also a common problem on all year C5's. There are a couple of fixes out there either via the dealer (very expensive) or one of a few D.I.Y.'s that have been posted on the forum over the years. Don't let these things get you down. The car is truely a work of art and the enjoyment will soon outshine the problems. Here's to miles of smiles for you.
