Does a Hurst shifter exist for the A4? I have never heard of one, but a guy at work says he has an automatic in his 2003 and upgraded to the Hurst shifter with better linkage?!?! He mentioned something about a nitrous button on it too. Does this exist? I didn't say anything about it because it could be out there, but I have never heard of one. That being said, he is usually is full of crap so I am doubtfull.
The reason none are offered is because the shifter cable is fragile and most customers would break it just removing the old shifter. This doesn't mean that you can't build your own. I designed and built one several years ago, no staple, no pushing down a button or a ****. The Delrin gates are tight and hemispherical so the **** moves forward and backward as well as left and right. The difference is like night and day compared to the stock shifter and was worth the effort.
I have not seen anything other than the shift **** with the button built in. I run this T-handle which has a button for my line loc. Hurst makes the same set-up but no shifters that i'm aware of.
