Tough to tell from the angle of the photo, but that BSM looks too level, too (doesn't seem to have the proper rake to it). At this point I'd certainly look into its history to see if there was an accident in there.
I did notice that the emblem seemed out of place but I thought maybe there was something even more obscure than that I was looking for. Check the emblem on the left side and see if the locations match. If they do then car was wrecked in front. I know the first FRC's were availabe in white, but not sure about Z06's, maybe just '01s.

Like said above..the 01's came in White. The emblems do appear to match on both sides.
Are they stick on or do they have pegs that go thru the glass? I don't see how the factory could screw that up honestly.
The emblems and BSMs are held on w/ double sided tape. Hell the owner could have liked it w/o the emblems then tried to put them back on for the sale.
Talk to the owner and show him pics of other cars... if the car's had a little paint work then so what so long as it matches... now if it's been crushed and brought back form the dead then I'd leave it alone.
Run a carfax (not a fail safe at all) run a dealer service oasis w/ the vin, and talk with the owner.
