...and the price of crude went up $1-plus Thursday, so watch for more increases. Paid $2.62 today and expect to see $3 during the summer driving season. But never fear, Congress will protect us from gouging.

Thats to funny . BUSH is getting a raised with the gas prices
My philosophy is, if ya' can't beat 'em join 'em! So I did.
I invested in BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (BPT), an oil Trust that pays royalties at about 13%. check it out.
The royalties I receive per year (paid quarterly) offset (subsidize) my gas prices to the tune of about 80%!
Best part is, when the price of gas goes up.... so does the royalty check! How good is that! I'm the only person smiling at the gas station while everyone else is whining.
BPT is the ticker. Its a little high right now at $69 but its still yeilding 12.2% on your investment at that price. (Do you know of a better place where you can earn that much right now?)
If I were buying in for the 1st time I'd wait for it to drop back a buck or two or more then take all that money earning 1.2% in your savings account and jump in for 100-300 shares or more! You'll be smiling at the pumps for the rest of the year! ...and be elated everytime you hear the price of oil is up! Even happier if Nigeria's civil war interrupts oil supplies or if communist Venezuala decides they want to screw the US and charge higher prices for their oil, or.... Iran????
Good luck! Now its up to you. You know you aren't ever going to see prices under two bucks again and you know eventually gas/oil prices will continue to creep up as they always have so keep that in mind.

Since there is no premium gas sold in this town, all I can report is that mid-grade (89 octane) gas is going for $2.29 a gallon - up about $0.10 a gallon since Wednesday. In Jefferson City, where I work, normally premium goes for about $0.10 more than the mid-grade.
