Well, things have gone South for me. I have been chasing this noise for a week and it comes and goes, well this morning, it came back and I happen to be with my buddies who are VETTE mechanics and "LIFTER" was the first thing that came out of their mouths. Possibly a valve (I just bought some new heads) and I am getting ready to start taking things apart to see if I cam figure out what the issue is.

Sometimes I wish I would have left it alone.
More to follow...

If you just had the heads done, maybe a rocker simply backed-off a little, and you just need to tighten it down.

Dang Micah! Still chasing that issue huh? That really sux man. I'm sorry to hear that. Sure hope you find out what the problem is, and soon. You gonna get it re-tuned after you correct the issue?

David,
If it is a lifter, I will not need a retune. This is something I have to just at and hope for the best. If it is a bad lifter, great! I will get it replaced and move on, but if it is a bad valve, that will suck, because LIVERNOIS told me they do not warranty race parts. A set of Stage 1 LS6 heads are conisder race parts...and all that was done is a cnc'd job and 918 springs.
I did try calling you, but your phone went straight to voicemail!

I'm not sure who you spoke with, but we stand behind our products. If there is indeed a problem with our workmanship or a valve give me a call and we'll inspect it and I'll make sure the problem is resolved at no cost to you.
Without actually hearing the car, the first thought that came to my mind when you said ticking was a lifter.

Rick, thanks a bunch for the reply...the lifter is what I am digging for, but I called to ask about the heads and if it turned out to be a valve does LIVERNOIS swap the head. He told me of your warranty on your race parts and I wasn't aware of that (have since read that and understand), but this car has not been to a track or autocross, just a DYNO for tuning and has less than 1500 miles on them, so I was shocked about the response. I really think that if it is anything internal it will be a lifter, the valve train sounds very normal. Was a bit struck by the call I had this morning.
Found a really loose sparkplug and the tips on three of NGK plugs. Could this be the reason? We will soon find out.
I am going to put the car back together and see if this was the reason. THRUNDERRACING.com believes that this would be it...possible compression passing by. The plug was really really loose, I could turn it both ways with my fingers. I am working on it now.
Yeah, a camera would be a great idea, but the problem with that is...it isn't always there, it comes and goes and comes and goes, this entire scenario has been !
I agree a stethoscope would be great, but you can't hear anything when the car is idling in park, it is more when driving at highway speeds and once it starts and you pull over to listen to it, by the time you stop, it gets quiet again.
