My 98 Vert. 28,000 miles shows signs of the front fenders dropping where the meet the front doors(about 1/2") Can the be adjusted or shimmed by a body shop?
Thanks
Lunatic
I can see it happeneing. The fender is attached to the the wheel house. and the wheel house (wheel well liner) is glued to the frame. And if that breaks loose, the fender will not line up properly.
Yes a body shop can adjust it, but make sure you dont just go to ANY body shop.
When I bought my vette, the fender alignment was AFU. After a close inspection I found that the bottom of each fender had been smashed and repaired (badly) and that several mounting tabs were cracked or broken. I have 2 new fenders on the way which will be going on the car with a total repaint :-)
P.S. You can kind of see the misalignment in my sig pic
