keep looking , you should do a lot better than a 2000 for 25k.
Just bought a second Vette , 99 for 16.5k , and all it needed is new leather covers inside
shop some more , autotrader is a good place to start , and hire an inspection company if you cannot see it in person . well worth the $ 100.00 inspection fee .

Too many nice vettes out there with lower miles for the same price.

I would pass...that car took a pretty good hit from the rear. The problem with fiberglass is that it could be damaged under the paint and you wouldn't know it for quite a while. You see a damaged plastic rear bumper, but the rear quarter panels could have hidden damage also. Too many undamaged C5's with low miles out there.

Now that's what I'm talking about. You can't get that from a dealer

This should be a winner in the SLSWP contest.

Seems like March is a bad time to buy a C5. I did a search the other day just to see what my car would be going for not that I want to sell it anytime soon. I was suprised how much more expensive they were than in Nov. I would keep searching. I had searched for 3 months until I found one for the right price, mileage, the color I preferred (Black, MY was 2nd choice), and nothing fishy. It turned out to be at a ricer dealership. They weren't too bad to deal with. They actually printed out a carfax of the car I was buying and the one I was trading in. It was easier than dealing with a Chevy dealer. Seems like the Chevy salespeople try to get every possible dollar they think they can out of you.

if it were my hard-earned moolah, i'd move on to another car. miles too high & condition too low to justify that price. there will be others out there. it will be worth the wait. bub

I disagree. Private owners can be just as bad or even worse clueless.

Research the car you are going to get. Plenty of resources available to the buyer. Then have a inspection. It didn't matter to me if it was a dealer or private owner that I bought my car from as long as the car was taken care of. I was lucky that I found a smaller dealer that had immaculate vettes of all different years.

You can find bad eggs in both types of sellers. Good ones too.

Yes - that type of damage would bother me if I was buying a car. It would signal to me that maybe the car wasn't taken care of as you would have thought an owner that took care of his/her car would have it had repaired.
