I appreciate the feedback. I'm looking for my first Vette. Been following several forums and websites for a while and am finally ready to make the purchase.
The car in the pic above is represented as never having been in an accident, but the pix don't lie. A dealer in FLA is selling but doesn't have any history on the car. I think I'll let it pass. Thanks again to those who chimed in.
i saw this car on ebay, and that is the buy it now price , but it is a make offer auctin so u can bid what u want to pay, 18,000, would be my offer, but thats because it is a dealer and i wouldn't paid more for a car with out a history, just my 2 cents
BUT SOMETIMES DEALERS ARE RESELLING THAT **** GUYS CAR THAT TRADED IN ON A NEW ONE IF YOU BUY FROM DEALER JUST FIND OUT HISTORY OF THE CAR the most **** guys with vettes dont want to hassel with selling them outright so they trade in nice rides and sometimes you even get cheaper from the dealer most people sell them outright cause they think they can get more ...if you want to pay more buy from an individual take a look at kelly blue book compare trade in to private party .. .true sometimes you might get a rat but just be careful but dont elimate the possibilty aslso remember with dealers laws require disclosure of damages and protect the consumer from a private sale you have no protection
When you buy from a dealer they will tell you what you want to hear. When you buy from the owner you can get a feel just talking to him as to how he kept his car. I once went to look at a MINT CAR for sale and when I seen how the owner kept his garage, property, and himself, I passed on the deal. To me it was a reflection on how he kept his car also. But hey, if you or anyone is comfortable buying from a dealer then by all means that is what you should do. For me, I want to deal directly with the owner.................
Stay away from dealer cars. With Vettes I would only buy from a Vette owner directly who was **** about the car.
Bought mine at Kerbeck. They sold it new and was traded back in there on an 06. Carfax OK. So, I would have to disagree. Now if it were a used only dealer and their inventory was from the auction, I would be reluctant. depends on the dealer and the ciscumstances.

When you buy from an owner, they can also tell you what you want to hear. There are reputable dealers. To heap them all in a negative pile isn't accurate.
Yes try to buy it from a prvt owner. When I bought mine last year I went his house seen the garrage condition and the car in it.Althouh it was in the garrage it also was under the cover.Owner had 8 vettes before and after this he was gonna buy the new C6.Seriously car was unbeliavable in perfect condition although it was 97.And the price was also very reasonable too.And the next day I bought it u can imagine without a second thought.I still get a lot of complimants about how clean my car is for a 97.Just look around don`t be in rush take your time.Good luck

Kerbeck is an exception in my book. They sell a lot of Vettes
That damage looks exactly like the damage on my car!! I made the mistake of parking it in a motel parking lot in Santa Barbara while on business. Came out in the morning and the car was moved forward about a foot and a half and had that same type of damage. I figure since it is hard to see (at least on mine) I will wait till I decide to get other paint work done before I take care of it.
