Ignition Swith Bezel Trim
The reason I ask is because I recently noticed that my bezel ring was just flopping around, so I removed the interior temperature cover, and the single screw holding that part of the center console in. I pried that small piece of the center console trim back so I could see what was going on, but I can't determine how that little ring attaches to anything.
I can see that it flares out behind the console trim, and that it has what looks like some kind of tether on it like our gas caps, but the only thing I was able to do was just fit it around the ignition switch, and then screw the center console trim back over it for a pressure fit. I can still move the ring slightly if I put pressure on it with my thumb, but is that the way it's supposed to be?
If no one knows, can someone at least tell me if your little ring moves around slightly?
Thanks.

These are install instructions from the VetteEssential's website. (God Bless Ken - You'll be missed

The pics will give you a good idea of the construction.

Why do you need the part number, anyway? Does yours need to be replaced?
I've copied these instructions from my Alldata subscription, but I can't post the accompanying diagrams. Make note of step 7 as to the way the wire is wrapped. (To be honest, I don't know what this wire is, but is must be real important.
)1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Remove the console.
4. Remove the IP accessory trim plate.
5. Remove the driver knee bolster trim panel.
6. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder electrical connector from the retaining tab on the side of the ignition switch.
7. Disconnect the lock cylinder electrical connector. IMPORTANT: Take note of the way in which the ignition switch lock cylinder wire is wrapped around the base of the ignition switch bezel.
8. Remove the ignition switch bezel. Carefully pull to unsnap.

Anybody else care to let me know if their ignition trim bezel moves AT ALL? If so, how much does it move.
