Default Half-Open Headlights

I saw a vette at a show that had a cool headlight setup. It was basically the same as stock but the lights were smaller and they only opened half-way. Just curious if anyone has seen this and how difficult of a mod it is. I looked through previous post and what not but couldnt find anything. Thanks

I'm not sure what he did exactly.. but you could get your stockers to do this buy ajusting the stops on the headlights... Basically the sooner the stop hits the sooner it stops.. this no more harmful than the factory setting because of how the motors work... You can rebuild the motors to last forever by replacing the nylon gear inside with a brass one... $35.

but i imagin he replaced teh stock lights to allow for this... but thats how you get the headlights to stop early... GOod luck.

Along with removing your drivers side windshield wiper, and adjusting the passenger side one so it's sits right in the middle of the windshield, this half open pop-up headlight trick has to be one of the dumbest ricer ideas ever. Do they think it looks good? Either they are off and closed to aide aerodynamics, or they are on and up, to aide in seeing at night. There is no point to them being half up, and off. Just makes them look broke to me. Man, I just don't get it sometimes...

I have a 94 Ford Probe GT that is my DD; the guys on the Probetalk.com/Probefaq.org forums refer to this as the "Sleepy Eye mod"

Not sure if I would want to do this to any of my cars but it does create an interesting look...

That leaving the stock lights and only modifying the height they raise is not cool. What made the ones I saw cool was that they not only opened half-way but the lights were re-designed to fit the small space and still provide more than enough light at night. Just something different that had amean look to it.
