Greetings fellow Z bro's. New '02 MY owner here as well. I was wondering if the hurst shifter with gear stops is the way to go to prevent any bending of forks, and for that matter knives and spoon
Def. don't want to run into the problem that straatien ran into !!
TIA
I'd say yes to that and I definitely wouldn't go out and spend "under 3k" to fix a problem I don't have.

From what I've read and seen on/about this tranny, there are factory stops in the shift gate, visable when you remove the shifter that prevent over-shifting. I'm not even sure if the Hurst for this car has stops?!?
I thought they changed the shift forks over to steel in the 03's?
My 03 was built 11/08/02 and that made the change shortly after this so some did have them and some didn't. No hard feelings from me because most of the 03's that have the steel forks also got the new fuel system which I wouldn't want.
Well this is just for me and based on my own observations. GM moved the components into the tank based on emmissions reasons. For me, the problem is that the filter is now in the tank. I plan on putting nitrous on my car like I did on my last one and it's very important to install/maintain a clean filter since your stock fuel pump needs all the help it can get in that environment.
