Default Help!!! Window Valet gone wild?????

Last week when I went to lock my Vert, everything went nuts!!! Windows went up and down, doors would not lock, but would unlock over and over… after a few minutes I thought to check the Window Valet, it seemed not to be plugged in all the way, so I unplugged it and replugged it in.

All seemed back to normal, but today when I went to lunch I locked the doors as normal, windows were up. When I came out, 1 hour later, both windows were down, but the doors were locked which rules out acciently hitting the FOB 3 times…I did not think much of it, just scratched my head and went back to work.

When I came out of work 4 hours later, yep, both windows were down and the doors were both locked, checked the Window Valet, it was NOT loose this time at all…

So what do you think, is it a faulty Window Valet??? Has this ever happened to anyone else??? I am just glad that the rain was yesterday, and not today!!!

hate chasing wires.
Maybe try a relearn, or reprogram for the windows.

if your valet was unplugged for a while , you may have to re-learn the window roll up travel setup .
now every once and a while when I hit the lock 3 times , mine will roll up , and come back down for no apparent reason , then stay up if i roll them up again . I love the valet , but I never just hit the lock 3 times and walk away , you never know , I keep an eye on the windows to make sure they stay up then walk away . a habit worth having .

Twice now, I've come back out to my car and the windows are all the way down. I just took the Window Valet out for now.

I agree on reprogramming the windows on the Window Valet. If the windows are partially down, and you use the WV to close them, they will roll back down because the WV wants to see full travel and if it encounters what it perceives to be an obstruction (like your top), they will roll back down. Just make sure that when you use the three click fob action to roll up the windows, make sure they are FULLY down first.

I still keep an eye on the windows before I walk away from the car, but have had no problems.

Wierd! Don't overlook a battery going bad. When they do all sorts of strange things can happen.

I think it's been about a year since I bought mine. It could be a bad batch or.....maybe we dont know how to program them correctly? LOL
Seriously, I think I've programed mine correctly. I just think it doesn't work good. I loved hitting the remote 3 times and having the windows roll down and hitting lock 3 times and having them roll up. Just couldn't trust it after finding the windows down a couple of times.

I've noticed if the windows are dirty the friction while closing causes the windows to stop and go back down. Clean the windows and it works fine.

You just need to reprogram the windows.

I've also had it happen twice.

First time was my own fault as I hadn't latched the top.

Second time was last week and I had to select 3 times before the windows stayed up.

I've also had mine about a year. I'll see if it happens again but maybe a relearn will work.

The strangest part is both times did not I use the fob to roll up the windows, the windows were already up so that rules out any issues about mis-programming or dirty windows…

I think I will send an email to the maker and see what happens

Same thing happened to me, when I let my battery go down over the winter.

Just reprogram ... and you're back to normal.
