Default ContiComortKit vs runflat

Has anyone actually used this kit and can say for sure that it does not damage the pressure sensors? I currently have run flats and am ready to replace them. (GSD-3 look really good)

Thanks!

I've wondered the same thing since I heard about the kit. Surely someone has used it and can report back on how well it works.

From the website:

"While it isn't intended to make tires sound quieter or ride smoother, Continental Tire's ContiComfortKit is capable of comfortably sealing typical tire punctures making it possible for you to complete the drive home, to work, an important appointment or a tire repair facility. The ContiComfortKit carries Germany's TUV approval and is suitable for use with passenger car tires, including run-flat designs, as long as the vehicle's recommended tire pressure does not exceed 43 psi (3.0 bar) and the tire dimension is within the recommended application range".

It sounds like some of the other inflation products that have been reported to cause problems with sensors. I have no experience with the product, just my interpretation of what I'm reading. So I too would like to hear some experiences as well.

In the next paragraph down, the discription says it's compatible with pressure sensors, as the residue can be washed or pealed off the sensor when you get the tire repaired properly...as you should. Seems like a decent kit though I'd still like to hear about hands-on experience.

I bought the kit and carry it in my Coupe. Luckily, I have not had to use it yet. It is not suppose to hurt the Pressure Sensors. The kit looks like a quality item though, very nicely made and the box it comes in is a perfect fit into the driver side recessed compartment in the hatch.

I wouldn't put anything in my tires except for air. I did that on a motorcycle tire once and it all puddled in one spot and caused such an imbalance it was nuts. So I carry plug kit and have used it and the plug lasted 25k with no ill effects. And now I have the GY D3's and just love them and I am sure you will too.

I use plugs on the farm all the time... Very easy to learn how to use them... When I change my tires I will carry a small compressor and a plug kit...
