I just received and put in a vinyl letter kit on the passenger airbag of the Vette. To be frank, it looks pretty cheap and I think I am going to remove it. I really want some contrast there to dress up the interior, however. Does anyone know of someone making some kind of raised letter inserts (acrylic or chrome even) instead of the vinyl stickers?
these look 10 times better and very
get the passenger airbag kit as well , it is raised material enough to make the lettering flush with the dash .
By no means cheap vinyl , went that route myself and tore it out real quick .
side note , the steering wheel emblem Cyberdine sells , sticks nicely to the wheel , and looks awesome , however , the air bag kit , looks great but I had to carefully lay a small bead of superglue to make the letters hold . but no problem after that .
you can look at my signature picture , you may be able to see both .

Don't use anything metal - I saw one company making the SS ones for the airbag. That's just what your passenger needs - pieces of steel flying out of your dash at 200mph

Yeah, but the cool thing is that you'd have either the Corvette logo or the word embossed in your forehead - only problem is it would be backwards!
Thanks all. The ones on E-bay were from Cyberdine Graphics so I went to their site and ordered them. I have been looking at them, but was afriad they would look cheap too and they are even more expensive. $84.99 for the Airbag, Steering wheel and sill plates.

Good luck!
The steering wheel and door sill inserts (that Alex Knight/Cyberdine Graphics sells) are AWESOME (worth every penny).
But the airbag letters, unless you're prepared to use super glue, good luck! I tried two complete sets and cleaned and prepped as best as I could but couldn't get them to stay put...I gave up
I bought a set of airbag letters from an eBay vendor (91ZR1 I believe is his name aka Decal Specialties); brushed aluminum (very close match to what Alex sells), look real nice, and have stuck perfectly...
I had the cheap decal from Ecklers for the steering wheel, I peeled it off right after installing it...too cheap looking. I also bought the deck protector for the convertible, also too cheap looking and it had to be taken off all the time, big hassle! The only thing I used was the $5 rubber flap for the gas tank hole....that order was a big waste of $$! These decals look real nice! Does anyone have an idea for a protective trim that would follow the black factory trim to protect the paint from wearing onthe convertible? I tried a 1/4" wide pinstrip tape which started off ok but got wavy looking after a while...

I have the vinyl inserts on my airbag and i don't think they look cheap maybe it's the way you put them on.Alot of people on the forum have them and i have never heard anyone say they look like that.
I agree with LarryW. Alex at Cyberdine Graphics steering wheel emblem is great and looks super. Mine is burshed aluminum in color and it stuck great. The airbag emblem is another story. It looks great but will not stick at all. I cleaned and prepped the dash with soap and alcohol and it just curls up. I am not going to super glue anything to my dash. I think I will try Decal Specialties since it got a good review from LarryW
