I was wondering if anyone would of recognized this as the "Window Commander" module.
Before the "Window Valet" was ever produced... all that was available was this device. To install you had to remove both door panels I had the Commander already purchased before my 2002 was built. And I installed the modules the day after I first drove the car home from the dealership. Imagine how nervous I was taking door panels off a brand new car with less that 60 miles on the odometer???
and the Commander cost $100 more that the Valet was later to be priced. I kinda chuckle when someone complains about the Valets price...
Nice thing is that the Commander has worked flawlessly all these years. The reason it was taken apart was that the circuit board was a too-loose-fit inside its case, and that became one of the many rattle sources I was tracking down.
I've heard of the window commander, but not familiar with it or knew what it looked like.
So, I did a quick search on it to find more info, since I suspected that's what it may be, and found your post rather quickly.
For all I knew it could have been in your car when you bought it, I didn't know this was a trick question.
