Default Clutch problems!

Ouch, I think my clutch went out Sat. night. What do I know, I'm just a grrrl. Towed the baby home and put her in the garage for now....should I go to a dealer or a private repair place - it was due for a check up anyhow.... While it is getting fixed, any suggestions on what else I should ask them to do? Could this be possibly related to the oil pressure problem I had last week??

You need to be more descriptive about the issue... oh and if you're hot we need pics of you

Seriously though... these cars are prone to hydraulic issues. Let us know more about what happened and we can help more.

Let's see....what happened....I was at a stop light turning left. I accelerated at the green light and there was a nasty whining noise from the rear end, as the rear wheels were spinning...then when I released the clutch the car did not want to go into gear. Then the clutch just goes down to the floor and I can't put it into gear. That's about all I can say on that subject

And you can view my photo on my profile but keep your comments about my appearance to yourself, please!!!

Does the car drive ok now?

If the pedal is sticking to the floor it's the hydraulics failing. It's a known issue and was covered under warranty by replacing the entire flywheel/clutch assembly.

You can also try flushing your clutch fluid, and possible removing the spring under the pedal. That spring helps make it easier to push in, but it also holds it to the floor on hard shifts.

As for the rear... mine went slowly after a few weekends at the drags. It started w/ a faint whine that developed into aloud moan when under load.

O-K, I will be the first to state the obvious; yes, you are hot. I don't however have anything of value to contribute to your clutch problem.

could be a clutch problem or could be a transmission problem. The whining from the rear could be the trans. What does the clutch pedal feel like now? Is it stuck on the floor? If the car is out of warranty, then I would try a reputable local shop. Maybe you can get some recommendations from the forum. We really need more information to diagnose the problem.

Default more amusing info

I just had the baby towed home and haven't re-examined the problem...not that I could really examine it anyhow, but there's so much good information on here. Guess I will just have it towed to a Chevy dealer. I bought it used and (oops) the warranty expired a few days afterwards.....just my luck. I should have paid more attention to that detail.

If it's stuck to the floor and on the floor then you need a new clutch. If it's juts stickey when shifting hard then it's an inherent characteristic of these cars.

What state do you live in. Suggest having a member check the car out before you try the dealer.
