i must be the only one that thinks the red caliper in the middle of a rusty ugly bracket looks like ***.
No I agree. everytime someone posts a pic of a newly painted caliper, with a nasty fugged caliper bracket I want to puke.
I painted my caliper brackets with the brake paint from auto zone. It was 8 bucks a can. I cant remember what it was, I want to say VHT makes it?
Anyhow, I did the brackets, and realized the paint was brighter then my calpers. then I realized my calipers were in bad shape as well (previous owner raced the **** out of it), so I painted all of it. I am much happier now. the brakes actually look a bit bigger with the brackets painted red.
I have ran it through canyons over and over. Real hard driving, for long periods of time. no problems with the paint comming yet.
I used sign painter's lettering enamel in black. It looks great with the red and you won't have to worry if the red shades are exactly the same. One-Shot brand paint is extremely durable and is made for brush painting. It dries smooth and high gloss.
