Have you noticed that only one tip on each side collects exhaust soot? I assume that's because the exhaust really only exits through one of the tips, right?
Also, do you polish your tips? With what?
Do you also polish the mufflers and pipes on the mufflers?
I'm asking about polishing because with my stock '01 chrome tips, I never did anything to keep them shiny-looking, except wash them whenever I washed my car.

Thanks.
I haven't noticed the soot issue but I'll keep an eye out and let you know. After I wash the car I wipe down the exhaust from the tips back to the over the axle pipe. Next I use Never Dull to clean/polish the tips. Then I follow that up with Mothers aluminum/chrome polish. They come out nice. Once a month I'll repeat the same procedure from the tips back to the over the axle pipe. I actually jack the rear end up and hand dry everything I can reach. If she catches me, my gf just smiles!! She knows I have the "Vette Flu"
Exhaust exits through all four tips on mine. The single pipe from the cans splits into two pipes that are both open.
Maybe the outer tips receive more flow, or something, I don't know, but it is interesting to see that my outer tips collect soot, while my inner ones don't. Almost makes the other two look fake. Now, I'm wondering if I should've just gotten two tips. I wouldn't think two tips robs any power.
Since GHL's tips are separate from their mufflers, I wonder if anyone makes something like the GTR tips that would fit onto the outlet pipe coming from the mufflers. That way I'd still fill the gap under the rear bumper, but only have two outputs. I think the key here would be that whatever tips are available, they need to have the same inner diameter as the GHL tips assembly to ensure they fit over the muffler outputs. Anybody ever heard of such a thing?

Got some GHL Bullets w/ quad tips (the magnum type tips or what they do as Bullet Standard now); we just polish them w/ Blue Magic or Mothers once or twice a year and after regular wash we just hit 'em with Zaino Z-6 and it keeps them looking nice.
Have noticed that 1 out of the 4 tips doesn't seem to *put out* as much, especially noticable during the cold cleveland winters. Who klnows why as, when we got ours we had GHL do a "one-off" with the bullets w/ the magnum tips so our pipe section looks like a Y as opposed to the normal pipe output config.
No biggie, though; GHL has been the best forum or otherwise vendor I have dealt with and the sound is still great. Hopefully even more so with the LG Pro's we are doing this spring (if they actually ever get here)
All four tips are black inside on my GHL tips. I use Blue Magic metal polish cream...great for stainless steel. I hit everything that came with the GHLs.
My tips are the rolled tips that are flared out, and when viewed from the side, appear sliced diagonally so that the tops of the tips sticks out farther than the bottoms of the tips.
With that said, when I look directly into the pipes, yes, they are ALL black. However, when standing behind the car, and just looking at the flared parts of the tips, my outer tips are MUCH sootier than the inside tips. Maybe I'll try for some pics the next time I get a chance.
