When I got a flat it read 8psi

From what I've heard it wouldn't read 0 if the sensor battery had failed but not sure on that

I'd start with a relearn

Did you train the sensors before putting them in the wheels?

Have you driven the car much since?

When I put my wheels and new sensors on, I did train them to the car before the tires went on the wheels. At that time, all 4 were showing 0psi on the DIC (and of course, the barrage of flat tire warnings).
When they got mounted on the car, it took quite a bit of driving (10-15 mi) before all 4 were were displaying new, correct readings.

The old 'flat" readings remained during that time, since the DIC will display the last reading until a new update is received from the sensor. The sensors don't transmit often when the car is parked (to preserve battery life), so go drive it for a while if you haven't done so.
