door speaker rattle

Using info gained from CF, I learned the BOSE emblem was the main culprit.
seems the most common question is how does the grille come off?
here is a pic from the underside of the door panel:

with my gray interior, you can see tabs from the gray colored speaker grille poking through the door panel and folded over. What this means it that there is no way to remove the speaker grille without removing the entire door panel first; which has been reported here many times.
here is a pic of a removed door handle bezel - and the 5 tabs that are so difficult to see when removing it:

the Bose emblem that is prone to rattle has two prongs protruding from the back. These are pushed through the front of the grille and folded over from the back - similar to bending over protruding nails in wood. Here is a picture of the emblem removed:

these prongs won't tolerate much flexing... or they will break off, so try not to move them any more then needed. There already was a felt piece attached to the back of my Bose emblem, but it wasn't enough to avoid rattling, so I added some silicon rubber to the back and reinstalled.
here is a pic from the back side of the installed emblem, with the prongs folded over:

Also, the black plastic spider-webbed protector(whick lays directly up against the black grille cloth and metal grille) was also a source of rattle. If I tapped on the outside of the grille - at the center - the grille would flex just enough to slap up against the plastic. So I placed a small piece of foam (actually Frost King - minus the foil backing) inbetween there. You can see it in this pic - directly in the center:

Rattles are gone !
