*****!
It's getting to be that time of year for us to start hitting the tracks. I'm in line for my first ever track coming up on the 22nd at TMS...yep!!! Decided to take the course. WOO HOO!!! I would like to be able to mount a vid in my car and record the good times. Many of you have anywhere from simple to elaborate setups inside/outside your cars, so I would like to see how/what you've done. I'm looking for variety on this, so please post pics and or post ideas.
Thanks,
Serkan
I use two different video sources. One is a permantly mounted video camera in my third brake light that I can record from.
The other is called The Gripper, a suction based camera mount that really holds tight and works great.

You are going to LOVE the day at TMS! More fun than you can have in a car, ever!
If you have a coupe, not Z06/FRC, this is a really cheap way to go and gives rock solid jitter free action. A LOT of guys made this setup for the May 2005 Run out there and was signed off by track guys as OK, because it complies with a "hard attach" meaning it very likely would not become dislodged in an accident, etc. Any and everything not bolted down, even floor mats must come out before you can get on the track.

I've run TMS 3 times already and likley going back in May to TDE. Is that where you're going?

Excellent write-up bro!
I'm going to attempt your setup (hopefully without mistakes) because I like the angle that the camera focuses on. Very creative.
Yes...I just signed up for the April 22nd "Intro" course with TDE. I'm hoping to get that out of the way for the May 5th Roval event. I'm not too far from the track...I live in Hurst.
I may have to send you a pm if I make a stupid mistake during the install.
Thanks again!
Serkan
I love that!

Many Tracks or schools may not allow suction cup mounts. Camera mount should be a hard mount or bolted in place.
I/O Port makes a great camera mount.

Here are a few pictures:
