I finished the heated seat install for both seats the other day on my vert. These are a MUST HAVE item for any vert in my opinion. My only regret is I didn't do this a year ago, I love having these installed. I can't believe these were not available from GM as an option? I ended up mounting the switches in the ashtray door for what I think to be a great location. I see getting a tremendous amount of use out of these. Members DeeGee and GTOFORMULA400 were very helpful with their info, THANKS guys!
I agree they should have made heated seats standard. Let us know where you got the kit from.
I ended up getting the kit off e-bay. Heizgart II kit (sic?). $160 for the pair. I couldn't be happier with the results. We have used these every day so far, only about 5 days, but I see constant use from these. They heat both the seat and the seatback, hi-lo setting. So far I have GHl's, V1 with bracket and power cord, Z06 screens, exhaust plate, SS lettering, halltech stinger, window valet, cags, clb, partition, insulation, and of course tons of Zaino. This and the GHL's are at the top of the list. If you are thinking about them, just do it!
How long does it take to get the seat covers off? Where do they suggest pulling power from? Does the kit include a relay or just switches? Thanks.
The kit has a wiring harness with switches, fuse, relay, sensor, etc. I went off the empty fuse slot #22. The seat backs take minutes to install. I took the cowards way out with the seats and had somebody do those for me. I was nervous about getting it back together perfectly, but I should have just done it myself. I was running out of time, I did the insulation at the same time.
I see getting plenty of use from these even during the summer. There are plenty of evenings that I think they will come in handy. Obviously, not in the dead of summer, but plenty of use just the same. For those interested, do a search for heated seat kits on ebay and they should show up. If not let me know.
