Default brake pads

Any recommendations on front C5 brake pads for track and autocross?

Thanks

If you are just going to do one once in awhile, the stock pads are fine. If you're going to get really serious about it look into the Carbotech's, or Wilwoods etc. Lot of guys like Hawks but I have found them to be noisy, very dirty and the dust can be nasty if it gets wet. I would also suggest you ask your question over on the autocross/road racing forum. Good luck.

I've been running the Hawks, & I like them. No noise problem at all with mine. Not so sure that they are any dirtier than any other good pads, but there may be cleaner ones out there. There are a few choices out there, & brake pads are not a real expensive item, so if you get some that you don't like, you can change to another.

I'm running a polymatrix brake pad, it does dust up a lot on chrome rims, but it stops really quick.

Whatever brand you get I recommend ceramic over the stock semi-metallic. Since the upgrade I hear no squealing and have no brake dust.

hey Joe, we talked at the TMS Cowtown event last Sept

I've used Hawk HP+ and Carbotech XP10 on autocross and on track day

Hawk better for autocross, Carbotech necessary for track use

both dust pretty badly

use Castrol SRF fluid and flush the whole system

I just ran a track day at Motorsports Ranch using new XP10 and NAPA rotors on front, stock on back, traction control off

7 sessions of 20+ minutes and no problem at all

drove home and changed back to stock the next day
